Forced by his ranking to play in the BB&T Atlanta Open's Qualifying , Atlanta's Donald Young outlasted Dominik Koepfer for a win that was popular with the Atlantic Station crowd. The match was delayed by rain, and once things got started the German took command of the match taking the first set 3-6 and racing out to a lead in the second before Young rallied to win the second set 6-4. After Koepfer opened the third set with a 3-1 lead, Young seemed to find another gear. The hometown favorite reeled off 5 unanswered games to close out the match 3-6, 6-4, 6-3.
The qualifying rounds continue Sunday, with the evening session featuring a women's exhibition match between Icon Venus Williams and Madison Keys at 7pm . Watch for more updates from the BB&T Atlanta Open on 929thegame.com
