Major League Soccer officially restarts tonight after the season was shutdown due to the coronavirus outbreak back in March.
Orlando City will kick off the season against Inter Miami at 8:00pm ET in the MLS Is Back Tournament in Orlando. The league cancelled a second match that was supposed to follow between Nashville SC and Chicago Fire after multiple players tested positive for Covid-19.
However, that may not be the biggest challenge United faces in this tournament. According to Jason Longshore, the biggest hurdle will be the mental side.
"You can't replicate the intensity of a match in training, and you can't replicate what a match is like in these conditions without fans in the stands," Longshore told Andy and Randy of 92.9 The Game.
"It's very different, and it's going to take a lot of focus...Players being locked in mentally from the opening whistle, that's going to be a big challenge here because this is a different kind of match than they've ever face."
