Kaepernick waiting for NFL to 'stop frontin'

It was not too long ago that Colin Kaepernick had become an afterthought, and people started to maybe not forget but move on.

He wasn't making a splash in the media as far as headlines go. He was just handling his business, staying true to himself but also always staying ready for that right opprotunity that he knew would come one day.

There's no concrete evidence that the recent partnership between Jay-Z and the NFL had anything to do with the kind of random workout the NFL scheduled for the former 49ers quarterback, but it's probably not a bad guess to say he played a role in all of this. However Kaepernick didn't just show up and follow all the NFL's rules and regulations of this workout. He worked out Saturday on his terms.

Earlier Kaepernick worked out in front of approximately eight NFL team representatives and somewhere between 75 and 100 members of the media. The workout was originally scheduled to be held at the Atlanta Falcons practice facility in Flowery Branch. The NFL originally had the workout closed off to the media, and would film the workout and distribute the film to all 32 NFL teams. However, these terms didn't sit right with Kaepernick.

Instead of showing up to Flowery Branch, Kaepernick worked out at Charles Drew High School where it was open to the media. He also had a commercial shoot scheduled with Nike during the workout.

"I've been ready for three years," said Kaepernick. "I've been denied for three years.

"We all know why I came out here today and showed you in front of everybody.

"So we're waiting for the 32 owners, the 32 teams, Roger Goodell all of them to stop frontin', stop running from the truth, stop running from the people 'round here. We're ready to play, we're ready to go anywhere. My agent Jeff Nalley is ready to talk to any team. I'll interview with any team at any time. I've been ready. I'm staying ready, and i'll continue to be ready."

Kaepernick then went around the Charles Drew football stadium and thanked all the fans for coming out and signed autographs.

Ever since Kaepernick first took a knee he has stayed true to himself. He's never compromised he beliefs or views to get back in the NFL. And even after being out of the NFL for three years he remained true to himself.

Kaepernick did the workout on his terms, let the people hear his voice on his terms. He'll be back in the NFL on his terms. Whether you agree with Kaepernick's stance or not, you have to respect how he carries himself.

Today he did everything to show why he belongs in the NFL. So just like Colin Kaepernick said... the ball is in your court NFL.
