After Matt Bryant missed a pair of kicks in Sunday's loss, the Falcons brought in a pair of kickers (Elliott Fry and Younghoe Koo) for a workout on Monday.

"At 1-7, Matt Bryant is your all-time leading scorer," says John Fricke. "Does it really make that much of a difference going forward if he's your kicker the remainder of the year and this is what you get?"

Fricke has a point. This isn’t a playoff chase and if he misses a kick or two the final 8 games of the season, so be it. How many fans out there want their last memories of Matt Bryant, a guy who has been so good for this franchise for so long, to be him getting released during the bye week.

Bryant deserves a chance to get things right, but even if they don’t get right, to finish the season on his own terms.

"With the situation the Falcons are in right now Matt Bryant probably won't get that lucky," says Hugh Douglas. "Especially if they feel like one of these other kickers can come in and give them a little spark."

The Falcons went out of their way to bring Bryant back in after they lost faith in Tavecchio, just let him ride it out. Let him close his NFL career out with one final season, don’t replace him until after the year.
