Georgia State football is entering it's 10th season as the Panthers open the season on the road in Knoxville against the Tennessee Volunteers. The Panthers are starting a new quarterback in Dan Ellington, who is expected add more to the passing game.
Georgia State was 2-10 last season under Coach Shawn Elliott and ranked second-to-last among FBS teams in passing efficiency defense last season. Tennessee is a 26 point favorite against the Panthers as the Volunteers debut a new offensive coordinator in former Georgia coordinator Jim Chaney.
Dave Cohen, play-by-play voice of the Georgia State Panthers said that both teams are coming off similar seasons in which they both did not live up to expectations.
