Before Spring Training was halted due to the coronavirus, Braves pitcher Felix Hernandez had a number of impressive outings and was on his way to not only being in the Opening Day rotation, but also to possibly resurrecting his career.

Fast forward to this past Saturday and the former Cy Young winner has decided not to play this season to avoid the risks of COVID-19

Multiple reports have confirmed that Felix Hernandez has opted out of playing baseball in 2020 due to COVID-19 concerns.

With Hernandez being off the field this season you can't help but wonder if he's given another chance in 2021.

King Felix was signed by the Braves to a minor league deal that would have netted him $1 million if he made the rotation. In 2019 with the Mariners he had 15 starts going 1-8 with a 6.40 ERA.

It's not currently known if Hernandez will plan to return for 2021
