It's already Week 4 of American Alliance of Football action. The Atlanta Legends, who finally picked up their first win of the season last week announced a new starter for Sunday's game against Memphis, former Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray.
Murray, who completed 20 of 33 passes for 254 yards last week, came off the bench to lead the Legends to a 14-11 win at Arizona. He also had 54 rushing yards on seven attempts after replacing the injured Matt Simms.
For those familiar with Murray's time at Georgia, it was hard for some in the area to understand why he wasn't getting playing time. Murray was the backup for Simms in the Legends' first three contests which were all losses.
It will be the battle of SEC quarterbacks as Murray will square off against former LSU Tigers quarterback Zach Mettenberger.
With the comeback win at Arizona and finally being named the starter, John Fricke summed up his feelings on Murray getting the starting role with two words: "About time."
The Legends and Express will tangle at 4 p.m. at Georgia State Stadium.
