Major League Baseball released new rule changes for the upcoming 2019 and 2020 seasons on Thursday. But how much impact will they have on the game?

Among one of the changes is roster expansion coming in 2020. Teams will be able to add a 26th player to their rosters, something the players' association has been advocating for. In September, when rosters expand for the postseason, teams will have a 28-man roster.
While the owners give up the idea of having a 26th player on the roster, they get implemented with a three-batter minimum for a pitcher. Meaning, pitchers will have to face at least three batters before being removed from the game. It's a rule Randy McMichael loves.
"It makes the game go by faster. I get the strategy part in it," McMichael says of bringing in a lefty or a righty to face only one batter. "But it takes forever...it gets to a point where you're trying to speed this up, you're trying to keep who are actually watching the game--trying to keep them in tune."
