Ice Cube joined Dukes & Bell featuring Robb Tribble and Paul Crane, he spoke about the first time spoke about his philosophy in making music and his Big 3 league which will be in town on Sunday.
Cube talked about his philosophy with making edgy music.
“We were doing it from a hip hop perspective.” Cube said “I always thought rock and roll was an attitude more than an instrument, we wanted to be creative with what we grew up around.”
Cube said that 3 on 3 is what most people grew up playing.
“It’s great basketball, it’s what you grew up playing.” Cube said “Most of us played 3 on 3 more than we ever did 5 on 5, we wanted to elevate it the pro level, the NBA is king so to introduce a new sport we needed star power so we got stars who we knew were still playing just not in the NBA.”
