Atlanta Hawks CEO Steve Koonin joined Dukes & Bell Friday.

Koonin talked about the start to the season for the Hawks, and how good Trae Young has been thus far.

“Both [Cam] Reddish and [De'Andre] Hunter looked terrific Wednesday night,” Koonin said. “It’s disappointing that Kevin [Huerter] got hurt because he was just coming back into form. So with John out, with Kevin out, our record has taken a step back. But our objective of getting these young guys minutes and letting them understand what the NBA game is, is still in full effect.

"We also statistically have the toughest schedule in the entire NBA. So the good part is the schedule is starting to calm down, we’re going to be playing opponents that, I can’t even think of a non-playoff opponent we’ve played in the last month, so I’m very optimistic. Trae is playing out of his mind. He’s seventh in the league in scoring and fourth in assists.”
