Pittsburgh Steelers defensive end and Walter Payton Man of the Year nominee Cam Heyward joined John and Hugh on Friday. When you think of the 2018 season for the Steelers, you think drama-filled. Everything from running back Le'Veon Bell's hold-out to Antonio Brown missing the final game of the season, the team was seemingly in disarray.
"I only think it seeps when you lose," Heyward said on the impact the drama had on the past season. "A winning team doesn't have to worry about that because they can rely on getting the job done....To think we're like the Kardashians, I don't really think we are. But all this stuff has got to get stopped, and we just got to get back to playing football."
There's been a lot of speculation about one player in particular, wide receiver Antonio Brown. Can the drama with Brown and the Steelers organization be fixed?
"We're adults but we're playing a child's game. At the end of the day, I can still talk to you, and I can reconcile anything. I don't look for quick-fixes where I need you to get traded or I need someone to go somewhere else," Heyward said.
"I don't know what happens in the future but I want AB to be a part of this team. I think he's a great talent, and I want guys to learn from him to see how he works. There are certain things that happen where it has to get addressed, and we all have to move forward."
