Take your time, Trae… No rush

Trae Young went down with a sprained ankle last week and since then the Atlanta Hawks have gone 0-3. But Jon Chuckery doesn't think this is necessarily a bad thing.

No one likes to lose, but let's be honest: Are the Hawks headed for a championship run this year?

Not likely.

Young is this team's future, and there's no reason to risk further injury on one of the franchise's most prized posessions. After all, this is a great opportunity for the team's other leader, John Collins, to step up and face some adversity as the captain of the team.

The Hawks also have rookies and other players, like Kevin Huerter, who need the opportunity to step in to the roll of the third leader on the team. After all, in any NBA championship run, there's always a third star that steps up and wins some games.

So even if the Hawks were to go 0-8 in Young's absense, it's not the end of the world. And the season is surely still long enough for the Hawks to make a playoff run after their young superstar come back.
