Atlanta Falcons general manager Thomas Dimitroff joined Dukes & Bell Wednesday.
Dimitroff said that turning the season around starts with the basics.
“To your point and your question we obviously have to catch balls, we have to block properly, we have to make sure we don’t get penalized,” Dimitroff said. “We just fundamentally need to be sound going into the rest of the season starting with this game against Houston so it starts with the basics no question about it.”
When asked if he would make any trades this year to address injuries up front.
“Always keeping our eye on it. We’ve had to be really creative with how we put things together this offseason because it wasn’t easy with a certain amount of money with the high-paid players we do have on this team," Dimitroff said. "We’ll always look to improve our offensive line, always look to improve our defensive line and our team in general, but we have to be smart about it.
"We feel we have good depth here but we got to get our guys healthy. I don’t see us going into a situation where we will be trading for an offensive lineman in the near future. But as you know you never know how things will play out with injuries and if we’re forced to do so, we’ll do our best to be creative and pull it off.”
