— Atlanta Falcons (@AtlantaFalcons) July 15, 2019The Atlanta Falcons announced they agreed to a four-year deal with defensive tackle Grady Jarrett. The move was not only in the best interest of Jarrett, who avoided playing next season under the $15.2 million franchise tag, but also allows the organization to turn their focus to other impending contracts.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Falcons are shifting their focus to getting a deal done with linebacker Deion Jones.
Now that the Falcons have reached agreement on a $68 million deal with Grady Jarrett, Atlanta is turning its attention to LB Deion Jones. Falcons and Jones’ agent, Drew Rosenhaus, scheduled for face-to-face negotiations in Atlanta on Wednesday, per source. Another deal in works.
— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) July 15, 2019But what about Julio Jones?
"This Julio thing is really starting to be puzzling to me," Randy McMichael said. "They keep saying awhile for Julio...you were under the impression that it was going to be done before training camp."
"Now it could still get done, and it probably will, but that's something to keep your eye on. If you get Deion's done, go ahead and do Julio's. But if you can't get Deion's done, are you going to rush to do Julio's?"
