Atlanta United (0-2-1) will look to their season back on track this weekend after a rough start. The team started the season juggling both Concacaf Champions League and their MLS schedule.
"Concacaf Champions League was a burden," Conti said. "It was a fun competition to play in; you wish Atlanta United would've gone further. It was a burden. That burden is melting away now. Let's see, as we get into April, if it lingers anymore or if we can start moving forward and not have to deal with it."
However, Mike Conti isn't sure the Five Stripes will hit that reset button against Columbus Crew on Saturday.
"You haven't really gotten the rest that you wanted," Conti said, nothing that some guys have been playing with their international teams during the break. "You haven't gotten the time that you've wanted for everyone to be together, training together, firguring out what they need to be doing together. This did not occur this week."
Team training and rest will come next week when United is on a bye-week. They won't play for two weeks from Saturday when they travel to New England.
