Braves insider Joe Patrick joined Dukes & Bell to talk about the Braves seven game winning streak, Julio Teheran’s performance this season, and what Josh Donaldson brings to the locker room.
Joe told the guys this lineup has become elite.
“This lineup is becoming one of the elite lineups in the National League.” Patrick said “You have guys throughout the order that can do damage, not only can these guys hit, they can beat you on the base pads, they play well defensively as well, this team is clicking on all cylinders right now.”
When asked what the difference is for Julio Teheran this season.
“When we were down there for Spring Training he had added weight and ditched the windup.” Patrick said “I think that change has really sparked a lot of consistency with Julio Teheran’s game, finding that consistency is helping him use his professional experience in situations.”
Patrick said the team has taken on Josh Donaldson’s mentality.
“Josh Donaldson is a bulldog.” Patrick said “You can argue his average is below where it should be at this point, but the mentality that he brings is one of the calling cards of this team now, this team really feeds off that energy.”
