With eyes on future, who's pulling the strings for Falcons?

And the Atlanta Falcons rebuild has seemingly begun.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Falcons have traded Mohamed Sanu to the New England Patriots in exchange for a second-round pick.

With the Falcons sit at 1-6, the assumption is that this is the final season for both head coach Dan Quinn and general manager Thomas Dimitroff.

So, who's making the trade moves for the Falcons?

"Who made this trade?" Randy McMichael asks. "Did Thomas call Bill (Belichick)? Did Rich McKay call Bill? Why would I give, I guess, like permission to somebody that's not going to be here to make a move?"

No team since the NFL went to a 16-game schedule has started 1-6 and made the playoffs. The Falcons have given us no indication, based on the way that they've played football over the last month-and-a-half, that they're going to win games and make a run. 

"I don't know how you give the guy who's going to be gone at the end of the season the right to make these trade deadline moves," Andy Bunker said.

"Unless somehow Thomas Dimitroff is still like wheeling and dealing for his job."
