Knox Bardeen hangs out to bicker about Manny Machado signing a huge deal with the San Diego Padres and how this affects the Atlanta Braves.

Manny Machado reportedly agreed to a 10-year, $300 million contract with the Padres on Tuesday.

John Michaels says the monster contract, which yields $30 million per year for Machado, will hurt the Atlanta Braves signing future free agents. He believes current free agents like Bryce Harper and Craig Kimbrel, who are still on the market, will now command lengthier, big-money deals over a short-term contract.

While age still may be a factor for Kimbrel in negotions (the reliever turns 31 in May), Knox believes Machado's deal should have little bearing on any Atlanta contract conversation with Kimbrel. Machado is 26, Kimber on the "wrong side of 30," Knox feels Atlanta should be able to get the closer to back off his idea of a long-term, $100 million contract request.
