Will the Falcons double team Mike Evans Sunday?

Tampa Bay Bucs reporter Rick Stroud joined Dukes & Bell.

Stroud was asked what the team might do with Jameis Winston after this season.

“It’s more like the $25-27 million question, because that’s probably what it would take to franchise the guy,” Stroud said. “They go back and forth on him. He’s thrown 18 interceptions, although Bruce Arians said only 10 are on him. [I] haven’t heard that one before. But when you turn over the ball like they have it’s tough to win. Arians said this would be a retool instead of a rebuild and it’s looking more like a rebuild.”

Stroud talked about why the Bucs receivers aren’t more productive.

“They turn the ball over so much that when you’re playing behind so much it’s difficult,” Stroud said. “The Saints doubled Mike a lot, they played cloud coverage on Godwin. He’s played in the slot a lot and he doesn’t get a lot of double coverage. Mike Evans is a superstar. He’s about to go over 1,000 yards for the sixth time to start his career. But the problem is they haven’t developed a third option. OJ Howard has taken a step back and their third receiver hasn’t really come around. And until you can get three of those guys going it’s going to be difficult.”
