Texas just landed the No. 1 overall recruit in the 2023 recruiting class in Arch Manning. After the prodigal nephew of Peyton and Eli announced his commitment on Thursday, it started a recruiting frenzy of players wanting to join the hyped QB in Austin.

A total of seven big-time recruits committed following Manning's announcement, with five making their announcement on Sunday alone. Another highly touted prospect, Derek Williams — ranked the No. 37 prospect in the nation, according to 247Sports — committed to Texas Monday. Williams told ESPN that after Manning made his announcement, he was sold on Texas.

“That kind of shocked me,” Williams said. “I knew (Manning) was (likely) going there, but I was just making sure. That impacted my decision going (to Texas).”

The Longhorns' head coach Steve Sarkisian seems to be happy with the results as well but still says they still have some work left to do on the recruiting front.

"This has been a great run," Sarkisian told ESPN on Monday. "Hopefully it's not over. I don't think it is. We may have a few more to go here this week. Hopefully we can continue to capture some of the momentum that has been created."
