The Atlanta Braves hadn’t even started their season before panic set in among parts of the fan base. Multiple starters were sidelined, a strange injury hit the shortstop, and the DH was handed a year-long suspension. Yet despite all of it, the Braves now hold the best record in baseball — thanks in large part to Anthopoulos’ roster construction, his confidence in pitching depth, and a series of under-the-radar additions. First-year manager Walt Weiss deserves credit as well, but the architect behind this resilience is Anthopoulos.
