The NL East is the tightest race in all of baseball as the Phillies lead the Mets by 0.5 games and the Braves by just 1 game.

In the next two weeks all three teams face some stiff competition that could divide the division up a bit.

The Mets have a brutal 13 straight games against the Dodgers and Giants.

The Phillies face the Reds, Padres, and Rays, along with a series against Arizona before the calendar turns.

While the Braves have an easy stretch at the moment, they do end August with series against the Yankees, Giants, and Dodgers.

Atlanta Braves Broadcaster Chip Caray chats about the rest of the month and how it could determine how the race shapes up come September.

"The next 13 games for the Mets is against the Giants and Dodgers, for New York to stay alive they've got to hold their head above water," says Chip Caray. "The Phillies are without Hoskins, Nola has been in and out, and the Reds can really swing the bat. We'll know a lot more in the next 10 days."
