The Atlanta Braves once again fell short Tuesday after being walked off by the Chicago Cubs in extra innings. Charlie Morton provided a solid start but the offense was unable to come through with a big hit once again. The team has now been walked off four times in 2024.
The offensive woes continue throughout the month of May as the team put up just three runs in the loss. The team has also now lost five of their last six contests, their lone win coming in a 3-0 victory over the Padres.
The club hopes to have reinforcements on the way as Austin Riley has begun baseball activities and Sean Murphy is on a rehab assignment for Triple-A Gwinnett.
One positive sign for the Braves is that Matt Olson appears to be on his way out of his season-long slump. He has compiled several productive at-bats including a couple of home runs in recent outings.
