The Atlanta Braves were counting on their top prospect Jared Shuster to deliver a quality start on Tuesday versus the Texas Rangers. He did not.

The lefty is now sporting an 0-2 record with a 7.24 ERA in three appearances.

The club will need more from him as GM Alex Anthopoulos announced Monday that they will go with internal options instead of looking to make a trade.

Dylan Dodd and Michael Soroka remain the other two primary options for the team to call up from Triple-A Gwinnett. Dodd has also been looking to find his major league form and Soroka continues to make his way back from multiple Achilles injuries. Anthopoulos lauded Shuster’s performance in the minors before the team called him up to start Tuesday, but we have yet to see that same form in the majors.
