Earlier today The Morning Shift had our very own Atlanta Braves insider, reporter, and Host of From The Diamond Grant McAuley on the show, and when The Morning Shift crew asked Grant how he feels about the rumors that Detroit Tigers star starting pitcher Tarik Skubal could be a trade target for the Atlanta Braves he explained why he thinks the Braves "owe it to themselves" to explore a possible Tarik Skubal trade.

“With Tarik Skubal that’s the kind of difference maker that you just don’t find too terribly often, so if you are the Braves, if you’re Alex Anthopoulos i’m sure if you’re really sizing it all up the opportunity to do something like this doesn’t come around too often so if you look at a club that’s done the things the Braves have done this year and you feel like you’re that one piece away you owe it to yourself to explore that.” Grant said

What it’ll cost the Braves to get the reigning two-time American League Cy Young Award winner is the million-dollar question, but if Braves General Manager Alex Anthopoulos and the rest of the Braves organization thinks the team is one piece away from winning another World Series the cost to get Skubal may not matter to them all that much.
