Johan Camargo is apparently returning to the Braves for a fifth season.

Atlanta has reportedly tendered the veteran utility man a contract for 2021 ahead of Wednesday night's deadline.

The one-year deal is for $1.36M, according to Bob Nightengale of USA Today.

Camargo, who turns 28 this month, was considered a non-tender candidate -- meaning the Braves could have let him walk for essentially nothing -- coming off consecutive underwhelming seasons.

The switch-hitter enjoyed a mini-breakout with the Braves in 2018, when he slugged 19 homers and hit .272/.349/.457 in 524 plate appearances while playing several positions in the field.

But his role was downsized in subsequent seasons with the acquisition of Josh Donaldson and promotion of Austin Riley, and Camargo struggled in limited action while battling injuries.

The Panama native was demoted to the minors amid his struggles last season, and should be in the mix to compete for the Braves' final roster spot or two 2021.
