Ronald Acuña Jr. and the Atlanta Braves found out they dodged a major bullet yesterday after an MRI revealed that what Acuña Jr. and the Braves feared to possibly be a significant Achilles injury is just a Grade 1 lower right calf strain, and while it’s a given the Braves shouldn’t and won’t bring back the 2023 MVP until he’s 100% healthy earlier today The Morning Shift explain why Atlanta shouldn't shut him down Ronald for the rest of the season either.
“I’m not a believer in put someone in bubble wrap until you need them because I actually think that that’s how you get hurt. I think injuries breed injuries, and not playing and not going through some of the day to day stuff and then you suddenly ramp it up again to me that’s an easier way to get hurt”. Beau Morgan said
Beau obviously believes the Braves shouldn’t rush Acuña Jr. back, but he does believe he should play however many games are left in the season once he’s 100 percent healthy again.
“Bring him back slow, if he plays the last two weeks of the season that’s fine, but he should rehab and get some time in because it keeps him sharp”. Beau said
You can only do so much to prevent injuries, and eventually Ronald Acuña Jr. will be expected to go play again, and play like the MVP caliber player that he is, and once that time comes whether it’s this season or next season he’ll be liable to get hurt all the same, and you just have to trust that’s not going to happen.
