The Atlanta Braves wrapped up the weekend with an 8-3 loss to the Rays, dropping them to 4-11 on the season and giving them their ninth loss on the road as well as their third series loss of the season and on Monday, Carl Dukes and Mike Bell discuss what they believe may be the issues for the club as they continue to struggle.
“Can you put your finger on what’s wrong with this team or is it multiple things,” Dukes asked as he and Bell reacted to the Braves dropping two of three to the Rays over the weekend which included a Chris Sale outing in which he allowed six hits, four hits, three walks and struck out seven through 4.1 innings pitched, giving him an 0-2 start to the season and bringing his overall ERA to 6.63.
“They don’t function completely as a unit,” Bell said in response as he explained why he believes outside of their four wins, the Braves have yet to get quality pitching and clutch hitting consistently noting he believes the Braves 4-11 record is an indication of who the team is and may be moving forward. “We’re an incredible inconsistent team that needs to find some clutch and the star players need to perform like it,” Bell added
