The Atlanta Braves offense has struggled as of late, scoring a total of six runs in their three game series against the Dodgers over the weekend. The Braves also haven’t scored four or more runs in six of their last nine games, and have scored two runs or fewer in five of their last nine games.
Why has the Braves offense been struggling so much? Braves color analyst and former pitcher C.J. Nitkowski explained to The Morning Shift.
“They’ve faced some really good pitching,” Nitkowski said. C.J. went on to talk about the depth of the Seattle Mariners pitching staff and having to face Tyler Glasnow in Los Angeles as well. Nitkowski also mentioned the Braves have had some “bad luck” during this rough six-game stretch as well.
On the bright side CJ also told Tiffany, Mike, and Beau that he has noticed the Braves batters making “good hard contact” and believes some good things have been happening. Hopefully, the Braves short two game home series against the Red Sox in the friendly confines of Truist Park is all the Braves need to get the bats going again.
