The Atlanta Braves have been dealing with a sense of urgency in regards to overcoming their struggles in efforts to turn their season around as they have been a below .500 team throughout majority of the first half of the season, however fate has not seemed to show them much favor.
On Tuesday, the Braves did not help themselves after losing to the Los Angeles Angels 4-0, resulting in them falling to fourth place in the National League East, and now trailing the first place Philadelphia Phillies by 11.5 games and to make matters worse, on Wednesday, the team announced Spencer Schwellenbach was being place on the 15-day injured list as he deals with a fractured elbow.
“Mike, it’s over,” 92-9 The Game’s Carl Dukes said on Wednesday as he explained why he believes the news of the Braves’ starter coming fresh off the heels of Chris Sale (ribs) being placed on the 60-day IL, may be the final blow which could almost eliminate the Braves from playoff contention. “We are in too critical of a stretch right now before the All-Star break trying not to be out 15 or 16 games,” Dukes said.
