The 2021 MLB All Star Game, which was planned for Atlanta but has been moved to Colorado is set to be played on Tuesday, July 13.

Between then and now the Braves have 12 games and it may be the most important 12-game stretch in recent memory for Atlanta.

Entering tonight's home game against the Mets the Braves sit at 37-40 and 4.5 games behind the 40-34 New York Mets.

With a 3-game set against the Mets followed by a home series against Miami, and a 6-game road trip to Pittsburgh and Miami to end the first half of the season, the Braves have a chance to get on a roll and change the scope of the NL East.

There is most-likely only going to be one team from the NL East to make the playoffs, it seems like a Wild Card isn't a serious option for any of the contenders, so the Braves are going to need to catch-and-pass the Mets to have a shot.

With the trade-deadline only a few weeks after the break, the Braves and General Manager Alex Anthopoulos are still looking for answers as to whether they are buyers, sellers, or neither.

With 9 games against NL East opponents, if the Braves can go on a run they can really get into good position to finally realize their potential this year.

Former Atlanta Braves relief pitcher Greg McMichael joined John and Hugh and stressed how this time before the All Star Game is a big opportunity for the Braves.

"There's always a turning point in the season and as many games as you play against the other teams in the division, if you can stay 4-5 games back you have a chance," feels Greg McMichael. "You sweep one series and all the sudden your team hits your stride. Momentum has a lot to do with your team and you really just got to get to the point where your team has confidence."

"We've seen it the last three years, when this team gets clicking they're as good as anybody. Everybody is just kind awaiting for that to happen and you never know what series is going to do that for you," says McMichael.
