If Braves don’t reach World Series, at least they’re relevant, right?

Steak Shapiro and Drew Butler discuss how the Braves season will be defined if they fail to reach the World Series

Thursday morning around Atlanta was not one of the best moods for sports fans as reactions to the Braves' 10-2 loss to the Phillies on Wednesday were heard from listeners on 92-9 The Game. And while listeners voiced their displeasure in the performance of Atlanta in Game 3 of the NLDS, they were not alone as Steak Shapiro and Drew Butler both shared their thoughts on the disappointing loss.

“Are we going to lie down and just have Bryce Harper round the bases,” Shapiro asked as he and Butler discussed watching the Braves give up six home runs to the Phillies in route to falling behind 2-1 in the series.
In response, Butler shared that if in a hypothetical situation, he had an opportunity to speak with the Braves’ players ahead of Game 4 on Thursday, he would not be hesitant to ask if they are “scared” to face the Phillies and would later add that the historical season the Braves have had should result in just one thing.

“There was no acceptable outcome than winning the World Series,” Butler said in response to Shapiro, adding that “with how the Braves’ regular season went, the records that were shattered, the performances that we got to witness ever single night during the summer, the relentlessness of the Braves’ offensive production,” Butler explains should have the Braves winning it all. However, Shapiro would tell Butler that he was not in total agreeance with his statement and believes that ultimately, regardless of the sports league, most fans would like for their teams to be “relevant."
