If “one step forward, two steps back” were a sports team, it would be the 2025 Atlanta Braves. The Braves lost two of three to the lowly Marlins two weeks ago, then swept the Mets in three games! Then they beat the Mets two straight games! Then lost the next two versus the Mets. Now, with the 2nd place (by ½ game) Philadelphia Phillies coming to town, the Braves find themselves 10 games out of the division lead, and 7 games out of the Wild Card.

Smith-Shawver, Braves fans have to hope that Alex Anthopoulos has some tricks up his sleeves (yes, both) to add on before the trade deadline, or the second half may be longer than the first. But, at least Ronald Acuña Jr will be in the Homerun Derby and likely the All-Star game when it comes to Atlanta in July! Andy Bunker and Abe Gordon get in to the Braves, and what they may need to add to improve the team at the deadline.
