It's time to see Michael Soroka again

The Braves picked Yonny Chirinos up off waivers and he was dubbed as an acquisition designed to "eat innings", he's made 3 starts, the Braves have won all 3 of those games, but he hasn't exactly taken a load off the bullpen in his outings, and you have to wonder why former Braves ace Michael Soroka is being asked to make start after start in Gwinnett at the same time.

92.9 The Game Insider Grant McAuley understands why the Braves gave Yonny Chirinos a few starts to see what he has, and expects him to make at-least one more with a double-header coming up, but is also ready to see Michael Soroka back in the majors after his recent run with the Stripers.

Michael Soroka's last start for the Atlanta Braves was back on July 21st, a game in which he went 6 innings and allowed 4 runs, a game in which he picked up the win.

Since being sent down to Gwinnett, Soroka has made two starts, going 6.2 innings on July 28th and most recently throwing 5 innings while striking out 8 on August 4th.

Soroka could rejoin the rotation on Saturday for the Braves doubleheader against the Mets, but he's not the only option to make that start, and even if he does pitch over the weekend that doesn't mean he'd stay in the rotation moving forward.
