Max Fried rises to the occasion. Every. Single. Time.

Fried's strong outing helps lead Braves to 1-0 series lead.

The Braves bats woke up in the 9th inning of Game 1 of the NLCS in a 5-1 victory over the Dodgers, but it was thanks to Max Fried and the bullpen that they had that chance to blow it open.

Max Fried threw 6 innings allowing four hits and two walks, all while striking out nine. He allowed a solo HR in the 5th inning to Kike Hernandez.

In the two games the Braves truly couldn't afford to lose this postseason, Fried has been his best.

In Game 1 of the series against the Reds, Fried went toe-to-toe with the expected NL Cy Young Award Winner Trevor Bauer. And on Monday night he out-dueled Dodgers ace Walker Buehler.

John and Hugh talk about Max Fried's big performances in big games and how he keeps showing up when the Braves need him to be a true ace.

"The moment wasn't too big for him. He looks elite, his demeanor, he doesn’t look like he’s shook," says Hugh Douglas. "He looks comfortable and there’s no situation that’s too big for him right now."

The Braves went 10-1 in Fried's starts during the regular season (Fried was 7-0), and are already 3-0 in his 2020 postseason outings.
