Former Mets catcher Travis d’Arnaud was asked at Braves Fan Fest which team makes him the angriest when he plays them, and after a smile and a long pause, the veteran gave his answer.

“New York Mets,” d’Arnaud said before the crowd broke out in applause.

The 34-year-old spent the first seven seasons of his major league career with New York, and has since spent the past four years in Atlanta after stops in Los Angeles and Tampa Bay. He blossomed in 2022 with an All-Star nod before playing in just 74 games last season, with the Braves acquiring Sean Murphy from the A’s.

Meanwhile, the Mets hope they have their answer at catcher in Francisco Alvarez.

It certainly seems like the anger motivates d’Arnaud, as he is batting .326 with a .963 OPS in 26 games against the Mets.
