On Monday Andy Bunker and Randy McMichael talked about the red hot Atlanta Braves who swept the Washington Nationals in a three-game series over the weekend. But the conversation turned to the so-so play of superstar outfielder Ronald Acuña Jr.
On the season Acuña is batting .274 with 8 home runs, 22 RBI, and 17 stolen bases in 53 games heading into a three-game home series against the New York Mets.
“It’s definitely interesting what he is doing at the plate. It’s also interesting what he is doing in right field,” said Andy.
“What is going on?...How I viewed it, it looked like he was asleep out there,” Randy replied.
“Maybe he has heard some of the suggestions that he scale it back a little bit,” Andy replied.
“I can’t do that…I don’t want to say that he is pulling back or holding back or trying to tone it down,” said Randy in response to Andy.
