The Braves run New York right now

The Atlanta Braves have dominated all of Major League Baseball in 2023. They have especially dominated teams from New York. In their last 5 contests vs the Yankees and Mets entering play on Tuesday the team is 4-1 and scored a dominating 51 runs in those contests. While a cherry on top for Atlanta, the beat down has been an encapsulation of two teams with deep playoff aspirations see their seasons squished like a bug.

Tuesday’s contest does not appear to offer any relief as the Yankees will send one-time ace Luis Severino to the mound. Severino comes into the matchup with an above 8.00 ERA and his spot in their starting rotation has been in question of late. Starter Clarke Schmidt was tattooed for eight runs on Monday.

Dukes & Bell say it’s the Braves’ time to dominate the NL East and all of baseball after both New York squads had their run come to an end. They welcomed in WFAN Host Sal Licata to the show, who agreed with their sentiment.

“The Yankees have been a mess. They’ll tell you the excuses of injuries and all that, which I think of a part of it. But I think they played over their head the first part of last season,” Licata explained. “Really, this has been going on since 2021, where you’ve seen outside of the results in 2021 you’ve seen the decline of the Yankees. And the Braves have a much stronger foundation than either team in New York,” he added.

The Braves will welcome the San Francisco Giants later in the week before once again taking on the Mets at Truist Park. If those games go anything like the previous five have against New York squads, it’s all but guaranteed more success for the Braves during an already dominant season. The club is a major league best 76-42 record after their win on Monday night.
