The redemption story for Marcell Ozuna continues. The Braves DH has raised his batting average over 100 points to .245 and has clobbered 16 home runs while driving in 37. There was a point early on in the season when he his batting average and lack of power suggested the end of his major league career, not the resurgence we’ve seen the last few months.

“He is a big reason why where are here,” Carl Dukes explained.

“Just the other day we were talking about Marcell, and I don’t know what it is, but some people like to relish in the failures of others,” Mike Bell questioned those who continue to hate on Ozuna.

Ozuna faced scrutiny from fans and media for pleading no contest to a DUI charge in 2022 and a separate domestic dispute in 2021. His career and personal life appeared headed in the wrong direction but he has since become an importance piece to this year’s team.
