On Thursday Andy Bunker and Randy McMichael talked about who the Atlanta Braves should target by the MLB Trade Deadline next Tuesday August 2 now that Kansas City Royals outfielder Andrew Benintendi has been traded to the New York Yankees.
Andy and Randy focused in on the Chicago Cubs switch-hitting outfielder/second baseman/third baseman Ian Happ and what it would take for the Braves to trade for Happ.
“Ian Happ is going to have to cost you some stuff. You are going to have to give up more than you gave up and funny thing is you gave Bryse Wilson up to get the relief pitcher from Pittsburgh (Richard Rodriguez) last year and he was the one trade deadline acquisition that didn’t work,” said Andy.
“You are probably going to have to give up that type of guy…like an Ian Anderson potentially, like a Kyle Muller potentially,” Andy added.
So which team would say ‘no’ to a Ian Anderson for Ian Happ swap, the Cubs, the Braves or neither?
Andy & Randy went on to speculate about other potential trade chips for the Braves.
You can hear Andy & Randy Monday-Friday from 10a-2p on 92.9 The Game.
