Fans of the Atlanta Braves are waiting for things to turn around in the 2024 season, but there doesn't seem to be any sustainable signs that they will. Some are getting nervous as the Phillies' lead in the NL East has now climbed to double digits.
The Braves' team ERA is still eighth-best in baseball, third-best in the NL behind just the Phillies and Dodgers, but the offense is much more mediocre, sitting in 18th in MLB in runs scored, 10th in the National League. It's much closer to being the worst offense in the NL (only 42 runs ahead of the Marlins) than the best (67 runs behind the Dodgers).
There was a time where most were confident that the offense would get going eventually, but that hasn't happened yet, and we are way past slow-start or sample-size at this point and some wonder if it will ever turn around, and that's the question that will remain until either it does or doesn't the entire rest of the season.
