Why Braves fans shouldn't panic after seeing Dodgers sweep

The Atlanta offense continues to struggle after scoring a total of six runs in its three-game series against the Dodgers over the weekend where they were swept out in Los Angeles. The Braves, who have now lost five of their last six, have scored three runs or fewer in six of their last eight games, and didn’t advance a runner past first base until Marcell Ozuna’s homer in the seventh Sunday night. The Morning shift explained why Braves fans shouldn’t be panicking, despite Atlanta’s offensive struggles.

“It’s May 6. You’re 20-12. You’ve just went through the worst six-game stretch all season. It’s OK, the sky is not falling,” Beau Morgan said. “It’s regular-season baseball, there’s 162 games you’ve played 32. The book has yet to be written on this season.”

What also needs to be remembered is the fact that the Braves have played three first-place teams, who all have good pitching, in three consecutive series in the Guardians, Mariners, and Dodgers. The series against the Mariners and Dodgers were on the road on the West Coast, and Beau said it best “it’s freaking May.”

In every Major League Baseball season there are peaks and valleys, highs and lows for every team. This is just a valley and low point right now that the Braves will get out of and hopefully that starts with beating the Red Sox at home Tuesday.
