The Atlanta Braves are the defending World Series Champions, but you wouldn't know it by some of the lines set by oddsmakers for their win total and World Series futures.
Right now BetQL has the Braves win total at just 91.5 games despite winning 88 last year after a horrific first half of the season. They also list SIX teams above the Braves (including the Mets) as World Series favorites.
"I would be more apt to bet the Braves to win the National League or World Series than I would win total or division. It's a good division so Braves could go under their win total, make the playoffs, and go on another long run," says BetQL Host and Analyst Nick Kostos. "I think the Braves are really good. I would rather bet them to win the pennant or World Series just because of how much competition there is in the NL East."
The Braves will arguably return a better team than they fielded last season despite the loss of captain and MVP Freddie Freeman. Once Atlanta gets Acuna and Soroka back in action, they arguably have a better rotation, better bullpen, and better lineup than last years title team.
