The Atlanta Braves are in the midst of a seven game winning streak and, at 16 wins over .500, they also feature the best record in the National League. That said, John Fricke still doesn't think we've seen them play their best baseball.
"My question to you is do you think the Braves are hot? Because I think they're playing good baseball, but I need somebody to convince me that they're hot," Fricke asked the audience on Sunday morning. "I keep saying wait until they get hot!"
John is confident that the Braves still have their baseball ahead of them and a lot of that has to do with its pitching staff.
Health hasn't been on their side. Both Max Fried and Kyle Wright landed on the Injured List and won't available until the All-Star break at the earliest. Despite that, Atlanta has managed to rely on a youth movement on the mound on the arms of Bryce Elder, Jared Shuster, and AJ Smith-Shawver.
"The X-factor in all of this is that the General Manager [Alex Anthopoulos] is brilliant," he said about what could take this Braves team to the next level and what moves the front office could make to get them there. "He has the magic touch."
Behind its dominant lineup and a (hopefully) soon to be healthy rotation, the Braves could be the best team in baseball -- if they aren't already.
