Atlanta Falcons radio analyst Dave Archer joined Dukes & Bell to talk about the team trading Matt Ryan to the Colts earlier today for a third round pick and could Grady Jarrett be the next player on the way out?
When asked if the Falcons should think about moving on from Grady Jarrett as well.

“When you think about the two guys that you hang your hat on as leaders to get yourself to win seven games a year ago, Grady Jarrett and Matt Ryan are those two guys,” Archer said. “The thing about Grady is there’s local flavor there I think that Grady is such a great story, how hard he works all those type of things, it’s the business. It’s really tough to make the decision of when to move on and when you don’t.”
Archer talked about everything that goes into moving on from veteran players who still play at a high level.
“With Grady Jarrett it’s another one of those tough situations that GM’s have to make, all these people that like to sit on their couch and say oh yea I’d do that and do that. Get to know the dude, know his mom, know his family, think about how hard he works in practice, what he did in the weight room, all the things he’s done. There is an emotional attachment that’s very difficult that comes into play for everybody around the organization.”
