Falcons look to take advantage of Steelers defensive changes
As the Atlanta Falcons continue to prepare for their season opener on Sunday when they travel to Pittsburg to face the Steelers, they will do so with Tua Tagovailoa taking all of the first team reps as the team announced on Monday, the former Dolphins quarterback will be their Week 1 starter.
And while Tagovailoa’s ability to operate the Falcons’ offense effectively, Steelers beat write for The Athletic explained why he believes the key for the Falcons leaving Pittsburg on Sunday with a win may come down to the usage another Atlanta player.
“One way I think the Falcons can win this game is if Bijan Robinson really has a career day and really has a great day,” DeFabo said as he explained some concerns regarding the Steelers defense give him reason to believe Robinson’s impact may be the determining factor in a Falcons victory.
“When you look at this Steelers defense, they made a somewhat controversial decision on cutdown day. They moved on from Elandon Roberts who was a very physical, run down type of thumper and in the base defense, they’re going to have Payton Wilson. He is a very good linebacker. They think a lot of him, they think he might be their green dot one day,” DeFabo said.
“But I’ll tell you honestly, he’s a leaner body type. He is very good in coverage, he’s very good in sub-packages and it’s going to be a big test and a big measuring stick to figure out whether the Steelers made the right decision there in terms of their inside linebackers,” DeFabo said of the one are he believes the Falcons and Bijan Robinson may be able to expose.Falcons run game may find holes in Steerlers defense
