Falcons run defense allows 100+ rushing yards for first time this season
Up until Sunday, the primetime lights have been kind to the Atlanta Falcons, having defeated the Green Bay Packers in Week 3 on Thursday Night Football and the New Orleans Saints on Monday Night Football in Week 4, but unfortunately, the primetime hype came to an end on Sunday in the Falcons 30-23 overtime loss to the Baltimore Ravens.
And while there were several areas of concerns regarding what contributed to Sunday’s loss, for the first time this season, the Atlanta defense allowed more than 100 rushing yards as the Ravens totaled 208 rushing yards, including 51 yards on their opening drive of the game.
“Last week I said to Mike, we haven’t played enough teams committed to running the football, that I really believe that we’re good against the run,” 92-9 The Game’s Carl Dukes said as he and cohost, Mike Bell, as they shared their thoughts on various situations which they believe contributed to Atlanta’s loss.
“Are we middle of the road? Probably in the NFL. We’re not going to be one, two or three and when you play a team like this that says, ‘we have one of the best guys to ever do it. Good luck stopping him’”, Dukes said of the Ravens having success with Derrick Henry, who finished with 102 rushing yards on 24 carries.Falcons run defense challenged by Derrick Henry
