Falcons learning to make in-game adjustments

As the Atlanta Falcons start preparing for the Chicago Bears, there will be several areas they will look to make some adjustments, including re-establishing their run defense after allowing the Baltimore Ravens to total 208 yards, with Derrick Henry accounting for 102 of those yards, while offensively, Bijan Robinson was held to 86 rushing yards.

“I think they learned a lot,” Atlanta Falcons Radio Network play-by-play announcer Wes Durham said as he joined 92-9 The Game’s Carl Dukes and Mike Bell and explained why he believes Atlanta’s loss on Sunday was also a teaching moment as they get set to host the Bears in Week 6.

“You have to be able to take advantage when windows present themselves,” Durham continued as he shared his thoughts on the Falcons needing to be more intentional in calling plays, which lead to successful results, more often in unsuspecting situations.

“I’m not telling Tommy Rees or Kevin Stefanski how to do their jobs, but if Michael Penix [Jr.] can deliver the ball the way he does on third down to guys, he can do it on first down,” Durham said as he explained why he believes the Falcons do not have to utilize the Penix Jr. explosive pass plays only when the team has a long distance to go.
