Atlanta Falcons cornerback Isaiah Oliver joined the Midday Show on Wednesday fresh off the practice field. It was the second day of full-padded practice for the guys.
Oliver, who is entering his third season with the Falcons, is expected to take over for Desmond Trufant who signed with the Lions in the offseason.
The Falcons drafted Clemson defensive back A.J. Terrell with their first overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. He's likely to start opposite Oliver when the season begins, although it's still somewhat of a question mark entering the year.
Oliver said having so many guys in the secondary room has made everyone step their game up in practice.
"I think that just makes all of us that much better," Oliver said. "We're always going to help each other out, see things, say things and do all of the things like that."
"At the end of the day, like you said, everybody wants to be out there on the field because you can only have 11 people. I mean, it just makes us that much better, that competition in the room. We're working harder on the practice field so I think it's going to help us in the long run."
