How does a college football walk on become a 5th round NFL Draft selection?
The answer is simple!
“A lot of dedication, a lot of discipine, and a lot of sacrifice”
Avery Williams arrived on the campus of Boise State in 2016 without a scholarship to play for the nationally ranked Bronco's football team, but what he did have was the determination to not only show the Bronco’s coaching staff that he deserved a spot on their roster, but also the talent and work ethic to leave Boise State after four years of stellar play as a defensive back and special teams standout, to be selected by the Atlanta Falcons in the 5th round of the 2021 NFL Draft!
Now a member of the Atlanta Falcons, the 5’9, 195 lb speedster, plans to bring his self-admitted love to play special teams to the Dirty Birds.
During his four seasons at Boise State, Williams tallied 9 total special teams TDs. 6 punt returns and 3 kick off returns.
That type of natural kick returning talent will be a welcomed addition to a Falcons team that has struggled in the return game over that past few seasons!
While on with Dukes and Bell this week, Avery said he hopes “to change the game, and help lead the Falcons to a Superbowl.”
Mike Bell quickly replied, “that’s music to the ears of Falcons fans!”
Welcome to the Atlanta, Avery!
